l HOUSE AT CASTLE ARMSTRONG, BOHER,
  CO.OFFALY

There were two particular features to this site, well worth responding to in our design - a view to the front (north) of Bellair Hill, a prominent and distinctive local landmark, and a wide panoramic view southwards towards the Slieve Bloom Mountains.

The house is predominantly single storey, with only two rooms upstairs - the Main Bedroom and a Study / Reading Gallery space.

The front of the house is long and low, primarily single-storey, and with the large square window of the study, focused on Bellair Hill as a main feature of the composition.

This window feature sits on a ground floor solid base, clad in Indian Sandstone, providing a distinctive rich material beside the main Entrance.

Otherwise the house is simply finished externally, with white painted rendered walls, natural timber finished windows and a slate roof with a subtle purplish hue.
